This two-part workshop is geared toward young singers preparing to audition for collegiate and conservatory voice programs. High school seniors, community college and undergraduate voice students planning to audition for college, university or grad school music programs will have the opportunity to learn about the audition process and practice their audition skills.
For the first part of the workshop, singers are asked to bring their audition materials (headshot, resume, rep list and sheet music) as well as any pertinent information regarding their upcoming auditions. We will discuss repertoire selection and practice audition sight singing techniques.
While your students are talking through the nuts and bolts of auditioning, we will also offer a Q&A for parents only. We know supporting a student into a life in music can be a daunting challenge particularly if you don't have first-hand knowledge of playing an instrument at a high level. Topics will include how to figure out which school is right for your student, what skills can you nurture at home before your student goes to college and how you can help determine who the right teacher might be for your student.
With Jennifer Casey Cabot, Arianna Zukerman, Patrick Cook, and Rebecca Henry.
The cost for 2 day workshop is $100. 20% EARLYBIRD discount for singers who sign up by 12/25/17.
